For Guys Only
Creative Date & Surprise Ideas

Let me make a few suggestions before I give you any ideas about creative dates or creative activities. You need to remember that if you were to duplicate these ideas and your girlfriend found out where you got the idea, you're in big trouble. Most girls want their boyfriends to be original, a "one-of-a-kind" type of guy. They want to know it's really "him" and not some other guy (that has all the great ideas) that they are falling for. So take these ideas and put your own twist on them, and then they are yours.

By the way, a great book that every guy should own is 1001 Ways To Be Romantic by Godek. Most big book stores will have it.

So, here goes - just a few ideas for your brains to play with.

More Ideas...

These first few come from a friend of mine, Tom Tuell...the most creative guy I've ever met.

  • Ask your girlfriend to go for a walk somewhere where there is a pay phone. Just as you are Passing buy have an anonymous friend with a cell phone call the pay phone but have your girlfriend answer it. The anonymous friend should be given a script from you to read telling her how much you love her. Or have her favorite music playing. Or maybe the caller could tell her that there are a dozen roses waiting for her in the park if she will just give her boyfriend a kiss.

  • For her birthday, take her to the local mall and maybe get something to eat. Then tell her you want to sit down and do some people watching. As she is sitting there looking around, have one of her friends come up and wishes her a "Happy Birthday" and then give her a small gift then vanishes as fast as she appeared. In a few minutes another friend appears and does the same...then another...then another.

  • If you have a girlfriend that is going on vacation during the summer, here is something you can do that's creative and fun. Get a dozen or more roses and go to the airport boarding gate where your girlfriend will be taking off from and ask the people who are waiting to board if they would be willing to give your girlfriend a single rose during the flight. Have a note attached to each flower to say how much she means to you. She'll love it.

  • Or, how about this creative way to propose. A guy invited his girlfriend to a dinner at one their favorite restaurants. Each day he had a friend whose voice she couldn't recognize call and just say "It's melting." Also each day he had another friend go to her work with an ice cube placed on a silver platter along with a rose. A note was also attached which also stated simply "It's melting. I love you..." By the end of the week she knew something was up, but didn't know what an ice cube had to do with anything. Finally he took her favorite place to have dinner and out came the waiter wheeling a cart with an ice block with a diamond ring placed right in the middle. She had to wait for the ice to melt before she could wear the ring. She talked the waiter into putting the ice block in the oven.

  • A guy gave his girlfriend a key to wear around her neck but wouldn't tell her what it was for. two weeks later he took her to the local park where he had eleven roses and a waiter waiting to serve her dinner. At just the right time he snapped his fingers and out of the water came a guy in a scuba outfit. In his hand was a small box and the twelfth rose. She was speechless but knew the key fit the small box. She opened it and there was a diamond ring.......OR......?

  • If you have a policeman friend, this is a great way to surprise your girlfriend on Valentine's day. Have the officer follow her to school, pull her over and walk up to her car with his ticket book in hand. "I'm sorry miss but you went through cupid's red light and I'm going to have to give you a Valentine." Then have him pull out a big red valentine with your name on it. She will always wonder how you pulled it off.

  • This one is easy. Send your girlfriend a love letter...but actually send it in the mail. Or, send one each day for a week.

  • Drive your girlfriend to your favorite bridge late at night. Park at one side and walk to the middle where she finds a beautiful red ribbon tied around a bottle of sparkling cider. Or if you wanted to give her a necklace or ring, have it on a string hanging over the railing. (Make sure the string won't break or get stolen.)
